Debra lives in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, with her wife Lisa Miller (a photographer and graphic designer) and kids, Kathryn Hare (a sophomore  studying Conservation Biology at Northland College and an educator at the Como Zoo) and George Hare (a sophomore at St. Louis Park High School, a Sergeant in the Civil Air Patrol and robotics team leader). They enjoy the companionship of three dogs and a parrot.

Debra is a watercolorist who is honored to have studied with the Master Cheng-Khee Chee through the Split Rock Arts program at the University of Minnesota. Debra’s work is influenced by a combination of eastern and western saturated wet styles and methods.  She is inspired by Cheng-Khee’s observation that “A substance following its nature creates beauty.”
